2 questions please ...
1. Can I view/manage this account online? Since the move from the Woolwich, I am highly confused
2. Is there a tool that shows me the effects of overpayment?
Thank you.

Hi Ab,
We have the same Woolwich turned Barclays mortgage and we can no longer see the account details on line - just the balance. I've started a little spread sheet for myself (any excuse:p) so I can track it myself, by doing this I am able to keep track of the overpayments. You will have had an annual statement very recently (a Woolwich one:o) and this will help get you started. Hope this helps.. I've no idea if Barclays intend to improve the situation.....I wont tell you what my husband has made as the password to our new account:eek: suffice to say it's very rude (he's not impressed:o)0 -
It's rubbish, isn't it.
My (large) reserve account was transformed into an overdraft!!!
I re-mortgaged

It's not as good - but it was still a good deal for existing customers as moving normally costs one way or another. If you are commited to 'offsetting' its still an OK account, but the Overdraft thing was just pure cheek IMHO!I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

I wish I could! I have 3 years left to run and it's just not worth paying another set up fee. Such a pain.
On a related point, Barclays have just told me they've re-directed my direct debit payment as 'not known' because of a fault in their system. When does their systen NOT have a fault?
Booooooo:hello: Stand up and be counted. Grumbling without doing something gets you nowhere.0 -
dlnk, you are absolutely right, Barclays has problem after problem and it is always the customer that takes the brunt.
Since my Woolwich mortgage was migrated I have been:- Frozen off online banking
- Had to reapply for phone banking for no reason
- Spent half my life trying to explain things to call centres
- Had direct debits stopped as "not known"
- Had a cheque credited to the wrong account despite the cashier having my card in his hand to take the number from.

Hi Catshark,
Are you going to move to a new account?

I moved my mortgage to woolwich in May .I deliberately asked for monthly statements and I was told it would be no problem .I also set to mortage up so I could make overpayments .
I never received monthly statements ,the overpayments where not being taken off the mortgage .I wish I had never went near them .0 -

I'm not sure as the offset arrangement suits us well (DH paid gross so the tax money can be doing something useful until Mr Darling wants it in January  ).
When we had the initial problems during the transfer to Barclays, we were set to move to the RBS offset product even though it was 0.5% more expensive (I was that wound up by Barclays). However, RBS then made so many ***k ups in the process, we ended up not moving.
I will wait and see how bad an impact the new card reader thing has I think. In the meantime, every spare penny is being paid off the mortgage so we can try to deal with the problem that way!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0
