Credit Scoring CheckMyFile - anyone used their £16.95 credit check?

Owing just under £10,000 on my credit card i'm looking into balance transferring to a 0% card (atm my preference is the CapitalOne 1.7% btf)

Before applying I want to check my credit score, it should be fine, but i guess you never know.

Having read the guide on this site, rather than applying for each of the credit checks for £2 each by post, I though I might try the CheckMyFile report that gives you all 3 for £16.95 as well as access to free-phone advice.

Has anyone used this and was it useful?

Thanks

  • I would never pay £16.96 for a credit check. If you go to creditexpert.co.uk you can get a 30 day free trial and get your credit report from experian... also if you go through quidco they give you £6 for the priviledge! Just don't forget to cancel the trial at the end of the 30 days..

  • Yes, I suppose it's a bit daft paying so much for the credit check. The experian credit check option looks more suitable. Thankyou for your help.
