Advice for New Position Salary

    I work in recruitment and have done for about 15 years.For the last 10 I have been “In House”.

    The initial salary is where you will get the biggest uptick.Personally I would see what similar jobs are being advertised externally and see what they are potentially paying. If they are paying Circa £40k then explain that you are a little disappointed with the offer as you know that in the market the going rate is around £40k and that I what you were hoping for.

    They may meet that , thy might meet you halfway they may say no £35k is the absolute max. They won’t pull the offer.

    Just be polite and honest and go from there
