If you can afford it, I strongly 2nd (3rd?) the suggestion of a latex pillow. The latex is inhospitable to dust mites, and acts a little like memory foam as well. I know a latex pillow sounds awful, but I promise it's nothing like how you imagine. My pillow is so comfortable I take it to friends when I stay over there, it doesn't make my head hot/sweaty, gently molds to my head/neck, and unlike a lot of regular pillows does not make my couch or wheeze. It was recommended to me as an asthmatic, and it's great.

I have also used bleach as well as white vinegar on some of the very stained covers. Note you must use the vinegar and bleach separately and NOT mix them as if you mix them chlorine gas is produced. So soak in vinegar and water, wash and rinse and then soak in bleach and water and then wash and rinse. All seems a long process but it is quite satisfying to see the amazing transformation.
Just make it super-obvious that mixing acids & bleach produce chlorine gas which is often LETHAL!!:shocked: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_gas_poisoning

I was aware of mixing chemicals can be toxic I just wasn't personally sure if in a already running wash adding vinegar part way through would cause a problem since the bleach would be watered down.

Thats them all washed now, hoping I have a positive outcome, was a few small dents in as only have a tiny machine so had to squash to get them in but no massive ones.

We have a waterbed so no problem with that, helped my allergies no end, you can also get pillows from the waterbed shop although they are expensive.
I have real Merino wool pillows and pillowcases they were expensive but are lovely, keep you cool and do not discolour as your head will not sweat.
