Has anyone had this to correct short sightedness or investigated this? If so any advice?

I've met a few people whose parent had it done and they said it was great. However, serious complications whilst rare do happen, and for something that is easily treatable with glasses, the risk greatly outweighs the benefits IMO. In addition, as you age your eyes change, so you may again find you need glasses. And as far as I know the surgery can only correct for near or distance, not both. In my case surgery would make distance better, but near worse. Lastly I have seen reports of increased glare after surgery, maybe only with some types I don't know.
I like glasses, they protect my eyes from UV and flying debris. Why risk your eyesight when glasses are good.0
