Hi

I am aware of significant cost differences for a particular product between ebay and Gumtree in a particular country and in the UK

I have been doing manual searches for some time now to identify price differences, and acting on them to make quick cash

Its been lucrative, but time consuming

So I am looking to create a website that can scour ebay/Gumtree and other sites and automatically identify price discrpencies above a certain level

Do you know of a tool that can do this, or how I could go about developing something?

Thanks

I am unsure how the data is populated on to their site, but skinflint.co.uk compares and list cheap prices

To work out if something is old, broken, or a spare part of a device etc - comparing apples to apples is quite hard.

How about finding bargains on hotukdeals or pound shop and flogging them on ebay

You'll want to look into API's, Gumtree apparently have one, although you need a business account.

Ebay certainly have one but I expect you'd need to apply for it.

I've written a few scrapers in the past but you need to stay ontop of the code layouts, they tend to make small changes in the source that will break your scraper all of a sudden.

Big job to do this. You would have to be making a shed load of money to make this worthwhile.

In any case, where are the sellers in the other country getting their stock from? You'd be better off buying wholesale in that country, then making your grey import, then selling here.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
