Wary FTB - how long til offer?

Hi all,

Agreement in Principle and offer accepted on house a few weeks back now.
Mortgage going to full application now. This is with Barclays. I'm reading mixed info on everything but have been advised by MA 3-4 weeks, is this the bare minimum or max from experience?

It's subject to underwriting (not 100% sure what this even means!) but MA seems positive - think I'm just feeling wary of things as it's all new to me! I've provided everything requested - home report, bank statements & wage slips over past 3 months and copy of passport....

Friends and relatives have said that this is very much the admin side of things now and not to worry but genuinely feel like I'm going to be on edge for the next 4 weeks!

Has anyone got experience of Barclays full application process and timescales?

TIA

With Natwest I had my offer 9 days after application (one day after the valuation).

    Congrats!
    That would be great!
I've been on edge since we started looking at properties etc and just don't want to be the same for the next 4 weeks!

I got my offer one-two days after the valuation however quickly realised that the time spent waiting for the mortgage is a drop in the ocean compared to the wait for solicitors.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Mine was 10 working days. Everything submitted on the 29th March and offer on the 11th April. Waiting to exchange now. I’m a FTB too and the first of my friends to buy so it’s been a bit of a jump into the unknown.

I had a good broker and my solicitor’s are on top of everything which has really helped.

We’re with Barclays and it’s been about 4-5 weeks from start to finish. We got our first offer after 5 weeks but we pulled out of the original property so we had to amend things for the new property (which cost more).

Valuation booked for Monday the 20th which will be the 4 week mark and should hopefully have the offer toward the end of next week, so around 5 weeks.

    Barclays are notoriously slow.

    Thanks everyone.
Suppose it’s just a waiting game now.
