Advice needed please. Cannot re-mortgage as ex-husband refusing to be removed from title deeds.

I have been paying the mortgage for 15 years, since I bought my house 2004 and my ex-husband and I separated in 2007. He has not made any payments to the mortgage as he was unemployed at this time.
I now have an offer from a mortgage company to re-mortgage and save approximately £300 a month on mortgage payments with a much lower interest rate and to release more funds to pay off all my debts/loans (in his name also which he hasn't paid) but my ex-husband is still on the title deeds and is refusing to sign the paperwork to be removed from the deeds to allow me to re-mortgage.
We divorced a number of years ago but he also refused to come off the title deeds at this time.
Is there any other way I can re-mortgage without his signature as I am paying a high interest rate at the moment and would like to look at better options or ideally accept the current re-mortgage offer.
Thank you.

With pure hindsight this should have been sorted at the time of the divorce. Ah well, back to the legal beagles & their fees & this time sever the financial link.

Ex is probably looking for a cash handout, so eye what savings you can afford just to get clear. If he insists on court he may have deeper problems (which are still not yours). Again it is the beagles job to be clear that any offer you make is the only one going.

So is your husband jointly named on the mortgage? Is this the first time you have remortgages since 2007?

I would not be paying off debts in his name only as you're not liable. If you really want to pay the debts as you received the funds but the debt is in his name only then can you not use these as leverage in some way?

I agree with this. Why are you paying off his debts.
You need to negotiate the hell out of him if he need these debts cleared as a way to get his name off the deeds.
Not sure why the solicitor at the time of your divorce dropped the ball on this, which can be seen as being negligent.
Give his address to the debt companies and to see what happens.

I think the OP meant they are joint debts, eg "in his name also".
