I received mortgage offer around 4 weeks ago. I'm due to complete next week. What are the chances of a last minute audit or additional employment checks at this stage? Lender is Halifax.
Thank you

Depends on what you mean by checks? If you mean someone dot the i's and cross the t's then, yes. But, full background checks I doubt it0

I just mean is there a chance of them wanting to go through everything again and me to provide more documents, employment contract etc between exchange and completion. Do they do their employment checks before issuing the mortgage offer?0

Just chill all that stuff would of been done pre offer, some will get bumped for final audit, I guess0 -
Do you know what final audit entails?0

OP, I've got to ask - why are you worried? Are you planning to take any further finance out or are your circumstances changing?0

I'm on a FT contract until August 2020 which I told them about in my application.....i expected them to do an employment check but they were happy with my payslips and verified my income pretty quickly. I think they are more lenient with my profession as I will always have work. I was wondering if they would do an employment check before completion.... I just know how slow HR are at my workplace and I really don't want anything holding the completion up.0

Your offer has also been sent to your solicitors which has allowed you to exchange contracts which is now legally binding.
Can you imagine the implications of allowing you to do that and then changing their mind and do further checks afterwards?
Isnt going to happen. Relax. You are fine.0 -
