PRA Group chasing me - help plz

Hi all, new here and hoping someone can help me with PRA group who are chasing me for an old debt.
They have called me every day (not Sundays) for the last 6 weeks. I have not picked up to them but they have left voicemails every time.
I don’t know what the debt is for... I do have old debts from 5 years ago that I pay off a token amount of £1 per month (arranged by Step Change).
I still pay this amount off each month. I havn’t yet received a letter from PRA Group.
They have stopped calling now, is that a sign they have given up? Or do you think they are just going to try a different tactic? Letter / bailiff visit?
It’s making me very worried thinking about it.
Also can they still chase me for this while I am still paying towards the debt? Admittedly not much but still it shows willing.
I will be in a position to pay my debts off in around 6-12 months but not a present.
Many thanks for your help

Await the letter. Do not speak to them on the phone as it will just be bully boy tactics to get you to pay more. Take letter to Step Change to get them to reply - I assume your circumstances haven't changed so £1 is still your limit.
Read up about sending a SAR as you might find that the debt is unenforceable through the courts in which case stop paying them. They can't threaten bailiffs not without a court order and they have no more powers than either you or me.::A0 -
You have said firstly, that you "don't what the debt is for", and then go on to say that you are "still paying towards the debt". The two statements contradict one another. Which one is accurate?saycheeseandsmile wrote: »Hi all, new here and hoping someone can help me with PRA group who are chasing me for an old debt.

If PRA have evidence that you owe money for a debt that is not statute barred, then they must write to you via Royal Mail. If all they are doing is phoning you up on your mobile, then I recommend you block their number and ignore...

Hi and thanks for your reply.
I said I do owe some old debts which I pay back a token amount monthly towards each one but I don’t know which debt they are contacting me about...
I think I will wait to see if I get a letter and then decide what to do based on what they say.0 -
Got it. I misunderstood what you were originally sayingsaycheeseandsmile wrote: »I said I do owe some old debts which I pay back a token amount monthly towards each one but I don’t know which debt they are contacting me about...

PRA are a debt purchasing company, it’s likely one of your accounts has been sold to them.
They will not be aware of your DMP, and legally they must write to you to collect this debt, so block their number, and wait for the letter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I have had a letter of these people today saying I owe £250 and another for £187. I haven’t took a loan out in 11 years and I’m unsure what these are for.
Slightly worried they are all of a sudden sending letters for debts I have no clue about. I did have lots of debt around 2005-7 being young and stupid but cleared most of it in 2016. Any advice would be great, it’s the first I have heard from them and I’m not sure on how to respond0 -
Send them a prove-it letter.0

Spoke to them and they have closed the account0
