Nationwide FTB

Hello all,

We've applied with Nationwide and wondered if anyone else was in the same boat. It's so nerve wracking and I feel it's good to talk to people in a similar situation.

We got our DIP accepted no problem and the valuation has been done and waiting for an offer. A few anomalies on OHs credit file though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Did anyone else get approved with Nationwide recently with any adverse circumstances?

We’re currently waiting to exchange and have been offered a Nationwide mortgage. My OH was declared bankrupt 9 years ago and is self employed. I’ve had no defaults but do have a loan with a balance of £15,000. Waiting to hear back from Nationwide was the most agonising couple of weeks I’ve ever had.

    Good luck with your application
  • Eyoung1980 thanks for sharing your story. Congrats on the offer!

Nationwide received the valuation yesterday. How long did you wait from valuation to offer?

We applied for the mortgage 15th March, had a homebuyers report done on 3rd April and received a text from Nationwide the same day

I’m playing the waiting game just now. Broker submitted application 26th April, I have no bad credit history but I think I’m right on the borderline for affordability.

Last week Nationwide asked me to provide evidence from my employer that childcare vouchers will stop when DD starts school in the summer, which I’m unable to do. Hopefully they will accept a letter from the school confirming she will be starting there.

Have no idea what’s going on with the valuation, last week the broker said it was still to be booked but yesterday he said it would have been booked when he submitted the application.

Im buying a new build, I will be getting in touch with the company tomorrow to get an update from the instead.

  • So we got our DIP accepted without referral. The application went in on Friday. Valuation was booked for yesterday (in Scotland they just take the home report). Today we got a text saying the valuation was received.

Good luck to everyone who has commented and shared and I welcome more replies! Keen to hear how everyone is getting on with the process!
