    Oops.
Then it says, forecast if you continue to contribute to April 2016. £170.53 again. Not sure of the relevance of 2016?

    I turn 66 in 2025.

I have, according to the site, 28 full years, 6 more to contribute, and 16 missing. Those 16 were worked abroad.

Mine has a forecast of 175/week based on 34 years NICs as of this April, and it says the forecast cannot be increased. Unfortunately I have to wait just over 14 yrs to get it.

eastcorkram and joeengland - you've both must have had SERPS/S2P (the earnings-related element) taking you over the newSP starting amount as at Apr 2016 when they did the calculations...

I'm not sure mine is right, as it doesn't really make sense.
It says my forecast is £170.53. Then it says, you need to continue to contribute to reach your forecast. Fair enough.

Then it says, your forecast based on contributions to April 2019, is £170.53
    Makes sense. Those which say

    Pension forecast 168.60

are forecast to reach and be capped at the single tier rules maximum payment.

Anyone with numbers higher than that is having their pension calculated with the old rules of the basic state pension plus the earnings-related additional state pension. And future contributions can't improve their position.

The basic state pension and single tier state pension increase with the triple lock, the additional state pension only with CPI inflation.

This means that you might get a little more than the single tier pension for a few years, then the higher annual increases will cause the single tier to become higher and you'll get that instead.

I do hope that you were in receipt of Carer's credits?

I stopped working 31st December and he died unexpectedly three weeks later from a completely unrelated illness. We hadn't even got round to thinking about allowances. As it happens I had contributed enough for that year.

I became a carer for my mother and got carers credit for that. Her doctor told me about it and signed the form for me as she didn't get attendance allowance. I think a lot of people don't know about CC.

Now my mum does get AA so I get CA
