8 months into my BR

So I am 8 months into the 12 months bankruptcy and it has been the best thing I have ever done!
No phone calls about money I owe
No letters about money
No knocks at the door!
No stress when I go to bed!

The whole process is SO much easier than I thought. I had 40k off unsecured debt on cc and unsecured loans.

After seeking advice br was the best option for me.

If anyone is out there worrying about going BR I can assure you that it is (if it’s been advised you do it by a professional) the best thing you can do! Literally the phone call with the OR explaining how you got into a mess the soa is all so much easier than you will think it is now. I was on the phone for about an hour on total, I haven’t even heard from them since! Not even one letter or one follow up call. Just been left to get on with the 12 months.
Please please please don’t be afraid to get help, 8 months ago I was YOU, scared to go to sleep as I didn’t know what the next day was going to bring. Or how I was going to afford to pay my debts and feed myself.
Just speak to a professional and they will guide you through the whole process!

The time has absolutely flown by! It feels like it was only yesterday that I was on this forum asking for help & now 8 months here I am.

Please don’t let the stigma of bankruptcy put you off or scare you, the whole process is easy & at the end of the 12 months you are debt free. (Some debts aren’t covered like student debt etc, check with a professional).

The main part of this ramble is if you were me and so scared to go to bed. Don’t sit here any longer, go speak to step change or the citizens advice bureau. You will look back in 6 months or a year and be so damn grateful you did it.

Since my BR I have been left completely alone and not been contacted once, not by the OR or be any of my creditors. They all received a report to tell them I was BR and that was literally it. I gave them all a call and they all confirmed that my accounts were on hold and would be closed and the debts removed after the 12 months.

Don’t be afraid to do it. It was the BEST thing I have ever done. Wrote off 40k of debt and my stress levels have gone from 100 to 0.

All the best!

Good on you! Welcome to the freedom club. No amount of money is worth having your life ruined (and before anyone asks what about the banks' and credit card companies' lives... they charge enough people enough interest to make sure they never lose out, believe me).
