1 19 month old missed payment - mortgage help

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are hoping to process our mortgage application this month. We have an AIP from our Bank, they’ve said it’s an “A Pass” which is a good thing I assume. They’ve only asked for 3 months payslips from my husband which I think will be because he sometimes has overtime payments on top of his annual salary. They only asked for 1 of my payslips.

Anyway, I was just looking through my Experian Credit Report & noticed my Next Account is showing a missed payment from 19 Months ago. I remember it now, this was the week we got married then we went straight onto our honeymoon, I just completely forgot about the payment, I paid it as soon as I was home but by this time a new statement was generated so effectively I missed the months payment. The missed payment will be 20 months ago the time the application goes through.

When the mortgage application goes through I will declare this with the bank but does anyone know if this will have a serious effect on our application? All other credit accounts have never had 1 single missed payment.

Worried sick now.

It's highly unlikely to be an issue.

You say you will "declare it to the bank" - do they specifically ask you if you ever missed a payment?(not the same as getting into arrears )

Have you switched to SO's or DD's for payments now?
