Hi all
Despite my username, only legal suggestions please.
Wife is unemployed, i work for a supermarket, restructuring.
We have ever growing credit card debt.
I have tried to generate income with swagbucks and instagc online, with limited success. I do not have the acumen for matched betting.
Any suggestions on how to generate £300 by the end of may for my credit card repayment?
No assets to sell either.
Cheers

  • Is any of the £300 due, the credit card company's Recommended Extra Payment in respect of new rules/cc regulation.
If so you can stop this type of payment.
I didn't know you could until recently, I went 4 months with payments coming out double (it has deternated my balance which is no bad thing but the card company did say the extra payment could be have been stopped a lot sooner which I hadn't appreciated and seemed to be really helpful and far more easier to speak to if you were/are stuck and in a bind.

Mystery shopping may bring in £50 or so but I cant see how you can make £300 other than additional hours at work or you getting another job/your wife getting a job.
Aiming to make £7,500 online in 2022

    Hi,
As a short term emergency measure you could try to get/use a balance transfer to the card that needs paying (of at least the minimum payment). This will count as a payment to the card. If this is done in time some cards don't then take the usual minimum payment direct debit (if one is set up). Check and if your card would still take this then you would need to cancel the direct debit.

Is your wife job hunting with an open mind including areas of work that she has not done before? If she could get anything to keep you going (care, retail, hospitality whatever that would keep you going until she got something in her preferred area of work.

If you were to keep balance transferring instead of making actual payments then your debt will rise (especially if you still use the cards) so be careful it is an emergency measure. If you can't afford the payments on a long term basis then you might need to look into (free) debt advice and debt solutions.

    Good luck

Other than what has already been suggested, I'd have to agree with tlc678910 with regards to a longer term solution. You seem to be looking for a resolve for the shortfall this month - but what about future months?
