This is is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning all.

It's another chilly start to the day. Sometimes I appreciate the central heating at DM's place.

I had a lovely chilled day yesterday, didn't move out of my jim-jams all day. :p Today I'm going to visit DM, she's requested some fish pie in the flask today so I'll sort that out. I need to collect a parcel from D oodle this morning.

I hope that everyone is getting better or doing OK and wish you all a happy Sunday.

Thanks for the thread Get a and hugs to all those in need.

Moving day today, thankfully the wind has dropped so that makes it easier, then another visit to the dog rescue.

I'm cooking roast beef later and then it will be feet up with a book.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone,

It all seems much quieter out there thank goodness after yesterday’s rather wild weather.
This morning its the normal Sunday routine of bacon butties followed by the Archers omnibus, later I’m due to meet two friends for a cuppa and a catch up, from there I will drive straight to the stables to see the lovely grey one, although she will probably be caked in mud so that will give me something to do!

Hugs to all poorlies, take care folks and have a good day x

Morning all, carried on packing up books yesterday, more sorting today. Plus making dinner. I'm going to ge careful what I wear for cooking. Last Sunday I cooked wearing a fleece with loose, elbow-length sleeves and managed to hook the gravy spoon with a sleeve, scalded my left hand quite badly. The smaller blisters are healing and the big one has just peeled off. There is new skin growing but it remains red and sore though not infected. It is my left hand, fortunately I'm right handed.

Thinking of those who are worried, sad or unwell

I hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. A nippy start here too. The heating has gone on to take the initial chill off.

There was total silence from next door yesterday. No workmen, no banging and no drilling. Heaven. So I got my day of peace with my feet up alternating between watching the snooker and reading my book. The peace was shattered for a while when DD and middle DGD called in with Freddie (a Cockerpoo) they had been walking for a neighbour. Gorgeous dog but totally crazy! He was leaping from sofa to sofa, charging up and down the stairs and leaping on and off all the beds. And that was after a long walk!

Youngest DGD was at her dance class where she had been given her certificate for the tap exam she did a few weeks back. Clever girl got a distinction.

I suppose after my day of rest yesterday I ought to tick a few jobs off my to-do list today. Top of the list is wash the bedding but can I face the battle with the SK duvet? Maybe tomorrow!

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for all in need/want of them. Thinking of you all, take care xx

Oh AOD ouch. Hope your hand heals soon. Gers fish pie sounds just the ticket. Hope Mum enjoys it.

In bed with a coffee atm. Lovely and sunny but my phone says 5 degrees out and the central heating is on. Nothing planned for today except washing of the toddler slide in the garden as one of DD's friends is coming to pick it up tomorrow as dgs grew out of it last autumn.

Well I will love you and leave you. Have a good day

    Morning everyone

I thought I would have a quick catch up on here while drinking my second mug of tea, then I'm going to go for a short walk around the local park before it gets too busy. Other than that I don't have any plans for today.

If I feel up to it I will give the bathroom a thorough clean later but other than that the house is reasonably clean.

Gers I'm another one who spent the day in PJs yesterday and had a lovely chilled day like you. It's good that your mum is doing so well now.

AOD your hand sounds painful, I hope that it heals quickly.

Silver-oldie I hope that you are doing ok.

Taff please take it slowly, you are still recovering.

    Have a good Sunday everyone.

It's a bit overcast and 7 degrees, but hopefully the weather will get better as it progresses through the day.
As it's Sunday lunch today, we're having roast chicken etc..... and Dad :rotfl:. Tea will be sandwiches and strudel with custard or ice cream.
Not much else will be happening today other than cooking and eating. I did get through a lot of things on my list yesterday, but I still have the ironing looking at me :(. Oh well that can wait for tomorrow.
Right I'd better get some pots and veg prepped.
AOD ouch ! I hope your hand gets better soon.
TA well done to your DGD and to your peaceful day yesterday. Perhaps next door were taking the BH off.
    SilverOldie hope you are ok.

Take care all and hugs to anyone who needs one, or two.
    nan xx

Beds have been stripped and are in the wm they will be hung out today will remake the bed later.

Going for a ride out today to get some asparagus, there is a pub out in the sticks which sells local grown asparagus and before we have had a ride further along and found the site where is grows, they have a tiny farm shop there which is lovely and she only sells a few things but they are all so tasty so will go over there today and walk the dog over there.

Dinner tonight will be bbq as long as the weather plays along, OH insisted on one last night and was standing out there with his coat on freezing :rotfl: I sensibly sat in the conservatory with wine 'supervising' it poured with rain as soon as he came in with the cooked food :D

Hope you all have good days xxx

I have dug some MnS chimmichurri steak out of the freezer for tea.Yesterdays pizza deal went down nicely ;)
DGD FaceTimed yesterday morning so DGS got to speak to her too,she is enjoying her holiday.Nothing else to report so I'll wish you all well
