British Gas or Scottish power ?

Looking to move to a new provider as my current deal is ending.
Cheapest of the large suppliers are British Gas and Scottish power.
British Gas plan is 100% green electric.
Scottish power isn’t but their parent company seem to be putting lots into wind energy compared to British Gas.
As such even though British Gas are saying it’s been energy I wonder if really going with Scottish power would be going with a greene company ?
Grateful for thoughts as unsure !

Take a look at Octopus. All their energy is from either their own green sources or purchased from others. Their tariffs, for our region, also work out cheaper than the big six (and others). If you use a referral code to sign up, the £50 credit to your account, also makes them cheaper.
Customer service is excellent too.0 -
Bulb energy are also 100% renewable & cheaper than the big 6.4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh0

No reason to go with one of the big six, I second the recommendation for Bulb and Octopus have a good reputation too. Check out the Referrers forum for links to get additional discount.

For me I don’t think octopus are cheaper .
I guess my question is , are Scottish Power the more green choice considering they actually build huge wind farms . Vs going with British Gas or octopus for example who don’t appear to generate their own electric but buy these green credits - that in itself looks a bit like a fudge.0 -

Is that a fudge? Some say it is some say it isn't. Bulb is the cheapest supplier for me.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0
