What a time you've had, but you have such an admirable mindset. Have you considered looking on the Boost Your Income thread on here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=145 - there are lots of ideas that you might be able to fit in which childcare and occupy a bit of nap time.
A lot are surveys, and yes, they're dull but they will get you some money but there's also work from home opportunities like Appen and mystery shopping.
I'm sure you know, but I'll say it just so you can nod wisely, never do anything that requires you to pay to sign up (though you may have to pay out for an item in mystery shopping to get reimbursed later).
    Cheering you on

  • Well it’s been a rough couple of weeks for me

The job I went for the interview for... they gave me the job and gave me a start date... only for a few days later I had a phone call from the company asking me to come in for a trial shift and a interview... I said I already had one last week and I was told the job was mine so is that not the case now? She hung up and haven’t heard anything since... oh well...

But good news is I’ve been given loads of hours at my current job over the last 2 weeks made up to £480 in wages to be paid on the 10th June so yay. Not panicking as much anymore.

UC payday today so managed to pay £500 off debts! Yay! I need to update my signature which il do when I get home from work... on day 6 in a row and working tomorrow too... one day off then back in for 2 days

Glad I’m finally getting decent hours but for how long I don’t know

Managed to get my monthly sim only phone bill down by £4 a month every penny helps!
  • I'm in awe of how much you are managing to achieve with so much going on and the changes you have faced!

    Well done :D
  • its been a while since i updated this...
things are going alot better for me! managed to get £5400 of debt wiped so that helped massivly!
things picked up at work and i managed to pay off £2.5 k in 2 months! alot of scrimping was needed but so worth it!
making the final payments to clearing my credit cards tomorrow so they will all be at zero!
    all catologues paid off!
all thats left is two small loans which shold be clear by end of september!

life is good right now. i started dating this most amazing man who i have known for a long time and things are going very well!

still working at the hotel but im having hours thrown at me right now as its busy!

honestly i was feeling so low and depressed a few months ago and now i feel so much happier especially as ive seen the debt go down and down with each payment.

even much so that theres even talk of me saving to buy a house in the next year or two so thats exciting!

if anyone reading this feels as though debt it the be all and end all it really isnt, life can always change when you least expect it!
