Reusable Freezer Storage

We reuse takeaway boxes but I don't find they last very long before the lids shatter so I wouldn't buy them purposely.
I find these cheap Ikea plastic boxes last much better: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/cookware/food-storage-organising/pruta-food-container-transparent-yellow-art-90335843/0 -
I bought a load of those plastic takeaway containers from Wilko before our first child was born to stock the freezer with home made ready meals. They last quite well but eventually we loose some to breaks.
We also save and use glass jars. These are primarily used for our now toddlers meals but depending on portion size there is no reason a whole portion of bolognaises for example couldn't be put in one and cook the pasta on the day etc. The size most in use are the antipasti/sun dried tomato jars from aldi, their hexagon shape meansi can fit them very close together in the small top draw of our freezer, I easily fit a couple of weeks of meals into there.. We have also kept some of the larger mayonnaise and gherkin jars but don't use them so often, they could be used for larger portions if needed.0 -
I was reusing the Chinese takeaway tubs till they disintegrated or cracked from continued use. Now our take away has moved mostly over to the polystyrene containers so we get very few of them now and I also don't want to be buying more. Im using reusable bags at the moment but need to look for something more eco friendly. I don't have enough space for glass jars and mum would struggle a bit with those I think0

I tend to re-use Asda Chinese/indian plastic meal boxes and anything food-grade 5.

We never have takeaways. We simply recycle our butter/margarine/ice cream tubs. They last for years.1

I use glass jars with a screw on lid. I write on the jar with a sharpie pen.
You have to be careful not to overfill them.
I place in fridge first so they are very cold when going into the freezer.
I have had a glass jar break on me a few times but that was when I did not heed these rules.
I also use glass flat dishes from the Swedish store. They have airtight lids that are not glass.
All my glass jars are recycled pickles jars. Nice pickles but I was after the Mason jars they came in.
Even so I am not perfect and still use freezer bags now and then .
I hope you find a solution as the bags are expensive and not planet friendly. I also think glass storage looks nicer. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I use vintage pyrex with either a glass lid sellotaped on or modern pyrex that has a snap fit plastic lid or glass lid with plastic snap fit bits. All freeze well & can go in the oven (not the plastic lids!) /dishwasher/microwave.
Vintage patterned pyrex can be found cheaply lurking at car boot sales etc. The modern stuff is online & not that cheap compared to similar bits BUT does last & is incredibly versatile. We were given a boxed set of assorted sizes & it's amazingAnything from one portion to about 6.
