Mis-sold mortgage?
Joeysmall
I paid my ‘interest only’ mortgage off about five yrs ago and can’t remember when I took it out. It was around the 2004 mark, so I may be able to make a claim under miss sold. However, I can’t find my initial agreement to verify when I started this mortgage. ( Barclays).
Does anyone know how I can find this out please?
Thnx.

You cant claim just because you had an interest only mortgage.
You need to be able to explain why it was miss sold.
Did you not know it was interest only?
Did you not want interest only?
Did it not work as expected? (In fairness the name is a give away, so not the best argument).
If a claims company has told you you were miss sold, you may want to have a read of this first - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5996916I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. so I may be able to make a claim under miss sold.
Why do think that?
The FOS have no issues with interest-only mortgages sold pre-credit crunch. The FSCS just this week have said that they are fed up with claims companies putting in bogus mortgage interest only complaints (the vast majority failing).
In the rare cases where the FOS have found issue, there has to have been a loss. The value of gain in the house value is considered. And as most people with interest only mortgages have gained in value, even on the upheld complaints there are very few payouts.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
