New mortgage but old one not on credit history

Hi, I've just done a credit check with all 3 agencies. In order of best scores, Callcredit was best, then Equifax then Experian.

They all list credit cards etc that I've had in the last few years and they list my address and previous addresses correctly.

But, none of them list my current account (& associated cards) - which I have had for over 20 years and none of them list my mortgage - which I have had for 15 years.

I want to move, close my mortgage and apply for a new mortgage (self-cert).

Can anyone advise please?

  • You won't have a problem, I just think whichever lender you apply to will ask for your last mortgage statement and 12 months payment history.

Look at this as a positive, a lot of people would be only too pleased to have half their commitments omitted from their credit reports!!

Why do you need to self cert?

  • no provable income unfortunately
  • are you sure your existing lender won't do this for you? Always good to ask, especially if you bank with them

  • I'm going to try them, but the amount I need now is far higher than my existing mortgage and my circumstances are very different so I wanted to make sure my credit history was as good as it could get.

    What is your income?

    What is the property value?
What is the mortgage amount needed?
Are you self employed, if so how many years have you been self employed?

Lenders have been changing their criteria continuously for several weeks, so even your current lender may not be able to help depending on the answers

  • You could contact the credit reference agencies and ask them why those accounts are not listed, as if it looks like you have v little credit sometimes it can lower your score.

There is a new credit report agency https://www.garlik.com/index.php. It is fantastic, shows current account etc, It even does a search where your name show up on the web.
