Amazon no longer offering 'one day' Prime delivery?

Has anyone else noticed that in the last few weeks Amazon have slowed the Prime delivery service down quite considerably?

My last few orders have been 2-day waits for the item. I'm trying to place an order today and the earliest Prime option is for delivery on Monday (on nearly everything on the site, some are even longer).

I called Amazon customer services and they fobbed me off saying it's 'One Day' delivery not 'Next Day' delivery. I asked her to explain the difference is, as in my book, 'one day' is 24 hours. She explained that in Amazon parlance, one day means 'one day from dispatch' not 'next day from order'. I asked what the dispatch time service level is for Prime customers and she said there isn't one, it takes however long it takes (oh what a great get-out clause!).

She said it's rare that it takes more that 24 hours for dispatch. So I asked her to explain why on their site it's currently stating Monday for earliest Prime delivery, as this allows 24 hours for Dispatch, plus another 'one day' for delivery on Sunday (which is standard for Prime members).

She said she didn't know and would be escalating it. I don't expect I'll hear back.

I know it's a modern world grumble, but the beauty of Prime was that you could get things truly next day. I wonder if this was the plan all along... to offer next-day prime at a loss to crush enough of the high street, now they are extending the delivery times to save costs now there are fewer alternatives.

No problems here. Five orders in the last week and all have arrived the day after placing order and one was delivered same day. It's not that I place orders early in the day - they've all been afternoon or evening.

Can't say I've noticed at all and have had several deliveries from them in the last few weeks. It does depend on stock levels and which warehouse the stock is coming from though. I won't get an item from one of their Scotland warehouses next day in wales but I will from most that are down south.

    As said before on this.

It's all to do with where you are, where you nearest amazon warehouse is and futher which warehouse what you want is in. Also when you order.

90% of things are next day for me. Certain things take longer, they always say which day they will come when ordering, what's the issue. Only one I can see is I cannot filter by delivery date, which would be nice.

The 'issue' as it were, is that for the last 6 years I've been enjoying, as you have, true one day/next day delivery on 90% of items. Now I'm getting 2 day or longer offered on 90% of items. I can't find a single item on the site that will get to me sooner than 3 days from today.

Ordered 6pm last night, arrived 11am this morning. It'll depend on the item and where it's coming from.

Strange, for me its tomorrow if I order within the next 9 hours. Does it depend on which warehouse its at? do they have more than one warehouse? I imagine they must.
