Santander Mortgage Application Documents Required

Hi

We have recently got our decision in principle online for a mortgage with Santander.

We have viewed a property we like and are planning to put an offer in. It's not a guarentee the vendor will accept our offer but we want to be somewhat prepared with what documents we will need to show Santander if they do accept.

Has anyone applied for a mortgage with Santander? What documents did you have to show them?

Did you get your decision in princple online and apply for your mortgage online or did you go into a branch to apply for your mortgage?

Any advice is much appreciated.

For me everything was done over the phone and there was an online portal where I could check progress, submit documents etc. As far as I remember they asked for 2 months payslips and my latest P60 (can't remember why they asked for that). Bear in mind any monthly commitments that come off your wages - I had to pay off a travelcard loan from my work which was apparently making my mortgage unaffordable even though only one more payment was due, then I had to provide confirmation from my finance department that I had paid it off.
