eBay, DIY and some silicone sealant - or spend the £30 and get the job done properly - depends how much the watch is worth - personally I'd spend a max of £5 on a watch these days - but then I never wear one!0

My husbands Rotary watch needs the battery changing.
I think its £30 (ish) to send to Rotary to get it done & the cost & delay of recorded post.
Its a waterproof watch, so you can't just get it done in any old shop or market. It has to be resealed in a certain way after.
So apart from Rotary, does anyone have any other ideas?
Be glad to know of somewhere on the high street (& hopefully cheaper) as we all have these watches in our house.
I have a Tag and it costs much the same to have a new battery (too much just now, hence the reason I'm wearing an old watch at the mo  ). I've never been able to find anywhere where they will guarantee the seal so I'm afraid you may have no choice but to send it in to Rotary - an expensive pain in the rump, but at least you know it's a job well done. I try and think of it as costing about a penny a day to keep a nice watch on my wrist.
PS: Won't a local Rotary jeweller send it in for you? I take mine to Ernest Jones, they send it so I don't have the worry of it being lost or damaged in the mail.
HTHI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
