Capital Resolve - HELP

Hi All
This afternoon I received a text message addressed to my partner saying the following;
"CONFIDENTIAL MESSAGE FOR MR * ****: Please call capital resolve on ....... quoting case number ......"
Neither myself nor my partner have any type of debt or have money outstanding. I have looked at previous threads on here whereby people have said they have received letters via post, (which we haven't) and that this contact could be 'phishing'. However I find it strange that they have my mobile number along with his details, so unlikely to be phishing ??!
My partner attempted to call them whilst withholding his phone number however the sneaky !!!!!!!s won't receive calls from withheld numbers. When he called back (number showing) he was given two choices; 1) create an account on their website (not going to happen) 2) stay on hold, which went on and on and on.
He is reluctant to send a letter as, I assume, they don't have an address for him as they would have made contact via letter. Again he is unwilling to send an email for the same reason.
Any advice or details of similar experiences would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Nat

Hi,
You are not oblighed to respond to text messages/emails/ or phone calls.
If Capital Resolve beleive you are liable for a debt they have purchased, they MUST write to you, until that happens, ignore them.
I have dealt with this company on a few occasions, they primarily buy up debts that have been, or may have been subject to an insolvency, old payday loan accounts, and various others.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Dear Sourcrates
Many thanks for your reply. Not having experienced any form of debt collection before it is very unsettling....I appreciate for advice enormously.
It is very odd as neither myself nor my partner have any debt and we both have excellent scores on the credit scoring websites....hopefully they have the wrong person.
We will wait and see if any letters are sent.0 -

We've finally received a letter. The debt has been passed on by Sky.
We closed our account due a house in move in December, with the last payment being in January. The in April a rogue payment was debited from our account. We spoke with Sky and they claimed not to know what the payment was for, they hadn't requested it and they couldn't tell us why. The instructed the bank to fill in a form and request the money back which is what our bank did. So within a month the debt has been passed on.
Please advise on the best course of action. Conscious of reading other posts where people have attempted to engage with the original 'debtor' however been told they are no longer responsible, we therefore aren't really sure on the best course of action.
Thanks

Hi,
Well if you dispute the debt, send the provit letter to them.
If you admit the debt, simply pay it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Sorry to jump on the post but I can't figure out how to start my own thread - new to forums but need advice.
I have received a letter from Capital Resolve. They have my name wrong on the letter but they are also very vague with details regarding the debt they have supposedly been passed on.
All of my finance accounts have been paid on time each month and they are all up to date according to each of my credit rating apps - I use Noddle, ClearScore and Credit Monitor - so I am unsure as to where they could have got my details from or who the "debt" could have been passed on from?
I am only on the Electoral Roll and not the open register so they can't have gained the details that way.
They have not contacted me via email, text or phone, just the letter.
Very confused here so I could do with a little help!
Thank you 0 -

Hi,
Same advice applies to you.
In the first instance send them the provit letter, available here :

They should respond with more details on the debt they are chasing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
