Counting down to being debt free

Hi all
I’ve been a ‘lurker’ on these forums for a long, long time.
Over the years I’ve made some very poor financial decisions, spent money that I didn’t have and finished up in serious debt on numerous occasions. I’ve made many mistakes along the way.
I have to say however that I have enjoyed life and have lots of very happy memories which are absolutely priceless.
However time is marching on and I’ve now realised that I need to buckle down and get my finances in order once and for all.
I do have huge debts but I’m fortunate in that I earn a good salary.
My aim is to have a debt free date of Sept 2023. I’m hoping that creating this diary will spur me on to achieve this goal.

I thought I’d made a quick post this morning but it appears to have disappeared!! .... don’t think I’ve got the hang of this yet
I’ve made a start on identifying and collating all my debts. My intention is to use the snowball method to pay them all off ASAP. The app I’m using indicates that my debt free date will be November 2023 which is two months later than what I’m aiming for. Still got to sort budgets out properly though so debt free date is likely to change.
I feel so much better today for making a start at addressing my financial issues.0 -
I’ve not added anything since my initial posts as I’ve had a particularly busy few weeks at work and dealing with a family issue.
However it’s payday soon so I need to now get on track sorting my budget.
I’m also looking to make some extra pennies from online activity, saving on shopping etc, etc. Is it ok to ask for referral links on here?
If possible I would like to help others achieve their financial goals so if anyone can make a few pennies themselves by sending me a referral link then I will be happy to use it!0 -
