Hi all,
Forum newbie here and hoping people can advise.
We are based in Scotland.
My partner has previously had an IVA which was discharged well over 6 years ago.
It no longer appears on their credit file.
We have made the initial Agreement in Principle and been successful.
However, we now have the mortgage interview (by phone) coming up and have a question.
Question: If we are asked if either of us have previously had a judgement or IVA do we have to disclose that we have even though it is no longer on their credit file?
They may not even ask but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If asked 'have you ever had' then answer yes.
If asked if you 'had in the last X years' then answer as appropriate.
Which lender is it as the brokers will be able to offer an opinion.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

That sometimes goes in your favour and sometimes against. Declaring the IVA will not be an outright decline (assuming it is within criteria) it will just be factored in to the scoring process.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. You need to answer YES if the question is worded 'have you EVER had an IVA or entered into an agreement with creditors' or NO if it is worded 'have you entered into an IVA/agreement with creditors within the last six years'.
There are definitely high street banks who will ask the latter.I am a Mortgage Broker.
