NatWest morgage sent to different department because of a internal marker

Have applied for a morgage with NatWest all was going well
Had a aip
Submitted full application
Survey fine
affordability fine
Credit file brilliant

But has been referred to a different department cause of a internal marker and will get
Back to me within 48 hours

Only thing I can think of is I had a account and business account with them about 13 years ago when I became self employed and was
Hard and they ended up closing them I’m
Sure I never owed them any money in the end though
Will they really refuse me a morgage when that was 13 years ago and the morgage I want I have 41 percent deposit as well
And they can see I always pay my bills and earn over 80k a year now and my Lloyd’s accounts are in great shape

If they had to write off a penny, it will probably get declined.
If you satisfied the debts in full, then you will be fine.

Sounds like a random internal audit case. If so, routine procedure for them to manage their quality standards rather than specific to your case.

    What has the broker said?

All I remember is that in my early days of being self employed I was
    Always overdrawn etc

And they ended up refunding some bank charges to the account to get it back to 0 and then closed
It I just don’t ever remember owing them any money at the end and don’t ever remember them chasing me for any

Refunding or writing off is a material difference.
