Of course the attraction is the no cost aspect.
The free will service is funded by the charities in the hope that they will be left a legacy.
Be wary of the cost of Redlake storing the will.
It's worth looking at this before paying a company - there's a one-of charge of £20 -

Wow! Ok the will writer 'hopes' to get a future income stream, but gets nil income currently. I don't know what son would pay (any) charity.. if anything. Delete addtn trustee, keep will yourself (will looks good/OK). What does a dad do other than foot the bill for a sit at local solicitor job? Duh. Having been IFA for donkeys years I have a total (dis) respect for 'anyone' in the legal 'profession'0

Personally, I would not use a 'will writer'. We had one who decided they were giving up the 'will writing' business some years down the road and asked us to recover the will from their storage facility. I was in the midst of a divorce at the time and made a new will at solicitors - where it is stored. There was big surge of will writing services 20/25 years ago - my parents got involved in one and there was always an issue of the will storage. When my Dad died my Mum made a will at a solicitors - when she died 18 months ago - we knew where it was. Personally, think you need the advice of a solicitor in the writing of the wills as if they are not done/worded properly can create all sorts of issues when they are invoked.0

I found out a firm of Will writers had charged my in-laws over £1000 for 2 basic wills . The company concerned had changed names multiple times over the years ( not a good sign) and had a long list of ridiculous fees for everything
A small Change was required to both wills , I got it done for £150 using a local solicitor for both wills.Ex forum ambassador
