Oh I feel good & a bit smug!

Good Morning I've just used up the perishable contents of my fridge (didn't think marmalade & tomato sauce & gherkin soup would go down 2 well so thats still in there):rotfl:
So far - 2 cups coffee lol
1 savoury mince in slow cooker with carrots, pots, beans etc
Celery Soup (i'll tell kids it chicken) :o
Cheats tomato soup
Fruit smoothy (from left over fruit salad from last night)
Fruit salad from fruit left
Cheese sauce for freezer.

Only thing I can't seem to find inspiration for is half a bag of sad new pots, & organic carrots any ideas would be great only prob i've not got anything fresh to add to it :rotfl:

  • You can slice and peel them both and layer them in a baking dish (with onion or garlic if you have any) Pour over some stock (mixed with a bit of ketchup if you like) and bake - either at 200C for just over an hour or 150C for a couple of hours - for a nice accompanimen t to most things. My kids love carrots done this way.

Or cut both into chunks and oven roast with a little oil.

Well done on emptying the fridge - you should be proud!

That's great! :T you've every right to feel smug :)
  • I curry potatoes and carrots that are starting to get past their best. Fry up an onion, add some garlic and pataks curry paste, boil the potato and carrot until cooked but still fairly firm, add passata or tinned tomatoes and drained veg and allow to reduce. (Or bung it all in the slow cooker if you have one.)

Or add them to some red lentils and/or split peas with an onion or leek and some stock and make soup.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
  • Yum yum that sounds good too! thanks v much will try that next week - feel inspired now gonna try n make this a sat morning hangover cure lol:rotfl:
