Continental meats - storage - how long they last

I bought some continental meats during my recent trip, mainly for my DS, but I won't see him for at least a week, and then he has to eat them, so now just wondering about storage.
These are the types which are like a sausage in shape fully sealed, and sold not stored in the fridge/freezer, so presuming they can be kept similarly until opened.
Obviously I could slice them, bag them and freeze them, but wonder how they keep in the freezer? Or how long they keep unopened, and once opened. There does not appear to be any sell by dates on them.
Anyone with any knowledge of these products?
Thanks
DG

hi dg,
I think they last for ages, about a year or so, I think. They normally have date on the end of the tag. I think until the seal is broken, they have a long shelf life, especially if they are smoked:D'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'
