Barlcays resolved loan suddenly appeared on credit file

Hi All, was looking for some advice, a long time ago I had an overdraft, £3800, I've always contested that the overdraft and my financial suitability was never considered correctly, I used all of my overdraft and I was paying nearly £200 monthly, with out clearing the balance. I phoned barclays to discuss about clearing it off, they offered me a resolve loan £72 monthly. I have never received any documentation or summaries about the loan at all. all i can see the remaining balance on my banking portal about £1100, no other information is present.

about 3 months ago i had a cred alert - saying an account had been added to my credit file from that date, I look at it and it was barclays and this resolve loan, I am curious can barclays do this so late in the game.? especially as I've never had any information off of them regarding the loan as far as I can recall.

I'm tempted to make a complaint as this was never explained when I had the original calls or had any official documentation from barclays. I am annoyed that they've put it on my credit file with the wrong start dates and without informing me

in your opinions do you think I have grounds for complaint?

If the start dates are incorrect, ask them to amend them.

However, there is nothing wrong with them reporting to the CRAs, as long as the terms allowed this.

Put a complaint in if you feel hard done by.

Why did you not look at other ways to get the overdraft paid off ?

    Confused.
If you have taken out a loan to repay the overdraft then the overdraft is repaid so why is a balance for the overdraft still being shown?
If the payments are being made against the overdraft, then I can't see how it can be reported as a loan which it is not.
A balance can only be reported once either as the overdraft balance or the loan balance, not both at the same time.
