    I know it's probably a mistake, but it's a mistake that shouldn't happen.
just passing through.... Nothing to see....
  • I remember a few years ago in Tesco they were sellin energy saving lightbulbs (when they were much more expensive) for about £6.50 each or you could buy two for £5.95. Who in their right mind would say "no thanks I only want the one, I'll pay you more for the priviledge".
Seems to happen a lot in Tesco . At the minute Penguins are on offer and its cheaper to buy 2 packets instead of one .

Isn't this a deliberate ploy to shift more stock - get everyone who buys the product to buy 2 by charging extortionate prices for one.

The OP's offer was 98p for 1, or £2 for 2 - how does that work?

My sister has just sent an email to ASDA to find out just why one item costs 98p or she can buy two for 2 quid!

Do they really think the general populace are THAT thick??

Nowadays about nine people out of every five can't do maths. In my day it was only seven out of five. Education standards are definitely slipping.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

Though the thought occurs that in your day, it wasn't called "maths" but arithmetic.

Certainly was in mine -- back when only 112% of eight out of seven had a grasp of the subject.

Sadly, it's now the case that 27 out of every 12 people can't even spell arithmetic. . .

Actually, it wasn't called arithmetic but sums:D

What I find just as worrying to illustrate the fall in standards is that only 1 in 5 children leave school in the top 20% of their class.:p

    Lol, I remember sums!

Now it's called numeracy, like English is literacy, though the exam boards still refer to them as maths and English. Thank goodness science is still known as science (for now:rolleyes:), although in my day it was biology, physics and chemistry!

Sadly, the intention is to replace science with Media Studies.

This is probably part of an offer that includes other items in the range.
At the moment, Asda are doing 2 for £2 on Sharwoods indian sauces and accomps. The cheapest item is lime pickle at 95p and the dearest items are £1.35. If you bought 2 of the cheapest items, you will be charged £1.90, but if you bought the cheapest and another item it would be £2.
