I think it's particularly good to have the sound on, watch a few different channels (such as clicking on a different one to start) and also not leave it running overnight or all day. It'll probably ask if you're still there if you leave it running for more than 2-3 hours, and presumably they don't like it if you take a long time to say that you are.

Have run videos on various different channels, I'm still not seeing any ads, thus not getting any points.  I have allowed cookies, switched off any adblocker I have (the one in Chrome) & enabled Javascript.  Is there anything else I need to change in my browser options?  I know it's only going to be small amounts of points, but I like watching some of these videos & any additional points I can get the better.

And as it mentions at the bottom, if you've tried all those and still aren't earning, you could send them a support ticket and ask them to look into your account.

I've had a look at that second FAQ page & have raised a ticket, hopefully they can resolve any issue for me.  Hope it can get sorted.
