Do I need fuel receipts for tax relief claim?

Hi all, hope you can help.
I have had a company car for just over a year. When I first took the car on, I agreed with my employer that I would pay for the business fuel and not submit mileage claim forms to them (I don't do a huge amount of miles & it was enough to sway them to give me the car)
I was informed recently that I can claim tax relief from the fuel used for business miles from HMRC. I have all of the details of my site visits and can calculate the distances travelled, however, I read somewhere that I may need petrol receipts (which I haven't kept)
Do HMRC need these petrol receipts for me to submit my claim or do I just go ahead with a claim using the advisory fuel rate?
Cheers
Jacob

No fuel receipts aren't needed for mileage claims using HMRC approved mileage rates.0
