Can't think where else to ask in the hope that somebody actually knows the answer, so ...

What happens to all the unsold Easter eggs that have disappeared from the supermarket shelves by the time they open on Easter Monday?

My local supermarket still has them on display and loads of them, but all at the same price.

Local sainsbury's is selling them off cheap so I've been upgraded to Green and Blacks. :D

In previous years they've been flogged off cheap to traders and appeared on the market at reduced rates the following week. Same as happens with a lot of surplus stuff.

I was in a proper full sized Tesco earlier, all eggs still out/for sale, at the previous/full price.

    You have impeccable taste.
    I don't even downgrade from G&Bs.
Lots of lovely chocolate bars and a very nice Easter egg from a friend.

M&S had loads today, and all reduced to about 50% off. I'd imagine they'll probably reduce again and then I'd guess that what's left gets sent back to the warehouse and flogged off to places like Approved Foods.

Well no trace of any in the local Morrisons first thing this morning, so I guess you're right.
