Accessing Pension From Abroad

I'm 28 and I have around £700 in a pension fund with Aviva that I earned when I was in my early 20s in the UK. I haven't contributed to this for years as I've moved to Canada three years ago. I was thinking whether I could access this money and use it to pay off part of my student loan. Is this possible? Could I get the money transferred to my UK current account? Is it likely to be worth it with the taxes or charges?

You cannot access the pension pot until you are 55 I am afraid. The whole point of having a pension pot was for your retirement.0

Even if you could access it, I'm sure there would be far more interesting things to spend £700 on then contributing to a student "loan".0
