    Yes it is legal to pay cash in hand.

    If none of the employees earn over £118 a week you do not need to operate PAYE. My local shop only has part time positions which end up paying below that because of this.

    You are entitled to the minimum wage

    You are entitled to 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata so if you only work 8hrs a week you're entitled to 5.6 x 8hrs annual paid leave.

    They can pay in cash but there must be an official record of you which is reported to HMRC. Anything else is illegal.

    No need to operate PAYE if none of the staff earn above the £118 a week. They just must keep records of the staff, the details of the pay, times they've worked etc as a business should be doing.

    Only as long as none of the staff have any other job or pension. If a single employee has another job or pension, then the full PAYE scheme needs to be operated for everyone.

    I have a full time job at the moment. And this part time job would only be one evening a week, 5-6 hour per week
