Endownment confusion

Hi
Can anyone tell me in simple lay man's terms how i go about claiming compensation for an endownment?
we took the first one out in 1987 and after moving house in 1998 we added another endownment (foolishly!) can i claim compo for both? the first is with cis the second is with churchill.
we are currently looking to change mortgages to hopefully save a few pounds each month and dont know whether to just cash both endownments in and have a repayment or whether to carry on with them.
Regards

Hi dolphin
The Which site is a good place to start for the complaint.
https://www.endowmentaction.co.uk
You could have a problem with the first one as it's pre-regulation(1988), depending on who sold it to you.
If an IFA, forget it.If a building society much more hopeful.
Post some info about the policies and we can see if they are worth keeping
