I would keep the credit card at home in a safe place so that you had one for say purchases of over £100 where the benefits of a credit card were useful.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0

Pay off the overdraft and ask to have them to be reduced so you want use them again.
Sort out your budgeting and aim to track 100% of your spending. I have just done it in the last month and the result was shocking, denial definitely has its benefits.
Can you trust yourself with a credit card? My one is not even in my purse anymore seems to be working ok for now.0
