Photographer wanted!

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me please?

We are getting married on a Monday next August near Skipton North Yorkshire. We have both been married before and are having quite a quiet wedding.

I am struggling to find a photographer that doesn't want to charge a fortune for a snazzy album and photos from the crack of dawn. I'll be stressed enough getting ready without having a camera recording it.

What I'm looking for is a photographer who will provide the usual shots of the big day from arriving at the wedding venue to the cutting of the cake on a cd which we can then have printed and arranged into our own album. We don't want to make any of the guests responsible as we want them to relax and enjoy the day as much as we are hoping to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why not give a load of disposable camera's out and collect them at the end for developing - you will get the wedding from lots of viewpoints (give one to each child) - you and OH could always do a studio session after the day in all your kit if you wanted a nice formal mantle piece photo.
  • I can ask a few friends if they are willing to help if you like? some have done a hadnful of weddings and are offering materials only price , so you get a good photographer but pay under £100

pm if you want me to try and find someone for you. I would offer but I'm too far south.

  • Hi,

We are getting married in Wetherby in May, we are using this photographer http://www.egfphotography.co.uk/ as he was recommended by a fried, her pics are lovely. I particularly liked that we get all pics on a CD with no copyright, I’m not sure if he covers Skipton but it’s not that far away.

  • High Wood Photography. We got married in June 06 at Burnsall (The Red Lion) and it cost us £450 including an album plus dvd slideshow.

We were really impressed with him.

As other s have mentioned get friends to do it. My boyfriend has just done my sisters photos as a wedding present (they didn't want gifts just help with costs) and I'm doing the album layout (aarrgghhh!!), he just did a bit of searching on the web to get an idea of poses etc, he also took his laptop along so he could download the photos every so often and see them on a larger screen (and retake any were needed), and because it was a small wedding and everyone knew he wasn't a pro no-one is expecting pro quality photos (luckily though they are... almost!)
  • If you get friends to do the photos you can create a great album online at http://www.kodakgallery.co.uk/PhotoBookOverview.jsp
prices from £39.99 for their large photo books.
you can add photos, captions, and text pages, and it all comes back printed like a real book!

Thanks for that suggestion I'm now off to have a look. We have now found a photographer who will produce our pictures on a copyright free DVD so will do our own albums.

    Hi,

    I've booked these people - http://www.freshphoto.org/index_005.htm

Approx £1000 for the wedding package, compared to £3000 from other companies!

Based in Preston but will travel EVERYWHERE.

They were recommended to me by several different people x

We along with several other MSE couples have booked Avid photography.
