Just a quick one someone may be able to help me with.

I have followed the steps and sent out my first letter to credittors that i believe i have had Payment Protection Plans with and Natwest have written back saying they are able to supply copy statemnts, the fee for which is £10.

Can they do this?

    As they are providing you with a service I would say that they can.

    This is true. I understand they are providing the information under the Data Protection Act and they can ask for £10 for this, but i was unsure if this was the case following the wording of one of the template letters;

    "I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the insurance charges added to my account with *********. If you are unable to provide this data, I will accept copies of my statements. I understand that statements on their own are not covered by the Data Protection Act, yet I’m not requesting the statements per se, but the charges, which I’m entitled to."

    I'll pay if I have to, but just wanted to know where I stand first. :j
