Hi I am working to clear up my credit file, and dont want any further CCJS. Lantern UK are chasing 5 debts. 3 of which are from 2011, 2012, payday loans of which is wonga. They have sent me an email stating :

Unfortunately, despite our efforts to contact you, we have been unable to do so. Please find a list of the accounts we hold for you below:
It is still our intention to set an affordable and sustainable plan, which will enable you to clear this amount based on your circumstances. Please be aware, if we do not hear from you, we will continue with recovery action which will result in one of the following:
Preferably, we would rather not have to consider one of the above actions. We are more than happy to come to an arrangement with you to pay off the outstanding balance, and offer you the correct assistance in finding the right solution.

My question is can they go for a CCJ on the 3 debts from 2011/ 2012 and chase me for that money ?
2 of the debts are from last year which I do want to do a deal with to clear but the other 3 are from years ago one of which I am sure was written off (wonga)
Any advise would be appreciated many thanks )

Hi,
The loans from 2011/12 we’re not written off, they were sold to lantern, however, they will now be statute barred, so you should write and tell them so, the others however won’t be, so a payment plan will be needed, yes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Forget email, a legal letter must be delivered in a certain fashion to be valid, use snail mail, spend 60p on a stamp, and do the job correctly.
Template letter can be found here :
