Has anyone used James Hay Partnership as a SIPP Platform, they don't appear to have great reviews so was wondering what peoples experience was like. Also has anyone used First Equitable for Financial Advice?

I know an IFA that is moving all their mainstream business away from them. You could probably find another IFA that is moving all their mainstream business to them. Platforms are a bit like supermarkets. Everyone has their preferences.
Most IFA firms are small local firms with internet coverage similar to your local butcher. Also has anyone used First Equitable for Financial Advice?
The company you mention appears to use a virtual office in London as their address but is actually based in Liverpool. They do not appear to be IFAs (no mention of them being so on their website) and their website seems to suggest they focus on the niche or unusual areas of business and not the maintream. They started in 2017 and appear to only have one adviser who became qualified in 2016. All of which could be perfectly fine. Or it may be that you don't fit their target market.
Their website says they offer commission-based advice. That is banned and has been since 2013. Possibly a copy and paste error when they built the website or the template they used is old or maybe their niche focus with expats allows commission on non-UK stuff.
The testimonials seem to suggest DB pension transfers are a key area for them. Indeed, for someone that only became qualified and authorised in 2016, he seems to have done an awful lot of DB transfers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

They hid those references away in historic news postings. Strange they made no reference to it in their about us or their service or the many other places you would normally see "independent" added. Perhaps they once were but are no more (a possibility given the high number of firms moving to restricted basis from IFA).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
