Online order from Debenhams

Placed a £1k order on 3/4/19 for garden furniture [via Visa]. Delivery "by the 17th April".
Rang Debenhams today. Told courier will be contacting me with del date. Also told courier hasn't taken delivery of items yet. Also told me the " by 17th April" is 'an estimate' !
They are ringing back later but the proverbial alarm bells are ringing loudly. I'm aware that there's a possibility under section 75 that Visa can refund if they choose, unlike CC's who do so by law, but I am wondering if anyone can advise is it better to cancel the order now, or wait for Debenhams to go belly up ?
Is it easier to get money back for a refund not issued, than goods paid for but not delivered ?
Thanks.

If you are covered by having bought them on a credit card, I would be tempted to wait for delivery or at least chase a new date. Might be worth contacting your card's customer service for advice?May you find your sister soon Helli.

I presume you mean a visa debit card and meant chargeback rather than section 75 (s75 only applies to credit cards, not debit cards)?
If so, I wouldn't cancel.
If you do, you would then have to wait 30 days to start a chargeback for credit (aka refund) not received. Where presently you can do a chargeback after 15 days from the delivery date for goods not received. You keep using that word.
