Accepting that the 1st June was a typo and the actual start date is 1st July, I would just allow notice period to run it's course. That will allow you more time to be fully recovered from the operation and to be ready to go at the new job. There can be complications after any operation so a bit of flexibility will be to your benefit if that happened.0

They got the advice, problem is it was based on incorrect information.
If they had put all the relevant info in this thread they would have got more focused on target info.
Simple
OP made an offer,
HR made a counter offer
OP does not like counter offer.
Often not a good idea to deal with HR direct, go through management that's who HR work for - HR get told what to do.
If it were me
I would tell my manager the offer to leave early stands till the end of the week after that full notice, go sort something out with their management & HR.0 -

All very pretty, but I wouldn't have known how to strike through prior to your comment. It doesn't hurt to bear in mind that when posting onto these boards people are often under a degree of stress and can make errors.0 -

I am perfectly happy to stay and do nothing for the next two months but I was actually trying to do the right thing.
My point remains valid, just because you don't see the value of your work the employer mayDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0
