Hello all
It's raining. That was unexpected, by me anyway, as I didn't watch the weather forecast
We did a flying visit to town this morning, first to the bank then to Homebarginous for some Easter Egg hunt prizes. I thought the DGS would have been too old this year, but apparently not as he said that he's not 10 yet :rotfl:. DGD is always up for a prize, any time of the year.
This afternoon I shall be wrapping the prizes, then there is some ironing with my name on it and I also want to wash the kitchen floor as it looks like MR Fix It had a coffee fight this morning.......... and lost :rotfl:. I need to write a shopping list ready for Thursday too as we are having the family over for Easter. So 7 for lunch and tea on Sunday and Monday. I have a large turkey and joint of pork in the freezer, so that's the meat already sorted :j.
Tea tonight will be a Chinese noodle type meal, using up the rest of Sunday's chicken, with some mushrooms and peppers which are languishing in the fridge and then finish it off with a HM sauce.
Hugs to those finding today difficult for whatever reason especially OL.
Take care all

Hello, I'm back and in a more positive frame of mind.
It has been a grey morning and now it has started to rain but it does clean up the pavements. The drain gully outside our house was blocked with fallen leaves that had compacted and other assorted rubbish so I got the council to come and clear it. One of the neighbours told me that it had been like that for many years but all it took was a quick form to complete and they were round in days, at 6 on a Sunday morning too. Living in Birmingham, there are countless complaints about council services especially waste collection but - fingers crossed - we have been lucky with our services. And, no, the binmen don't know that I worked for the council for 35 years!
I did most of our washing yesterday, am glad I did because nothing is going to dry on such a dull day but it has left me K2 the dreaded ironing pile, which I have been womanfully ignoring. I shall persist with ignoring it.
OH is making some description of large meaty meal tonight, I'm going to have cauliflower cheese instead. Or spaghetti carbonara, something fast and easy and more to my taste.
Speky, I have to tell you that for me, it was instant attraction to my OH, partly because of his beautiful speaking voice and he is a very bright and funny man (when he wants to be). Like many people we have had our ups and downs but we have been together for coming up to 40 years and married for 35 of those. There are times when I could cheerfully bop him on the head and I'm sure he feels the same though. I know that loving a person is something that grows over time but for me, that spark needs to be there to start things growing. But that's me, I don't believe in telling others what to do.
I've been so miserable tgat I've forgotten to get easter eggs and I can't ask OH to take me anywhere, we are only just back from going out and I still forgot them.
I'm desperately tired, my sleep has not improved at all. I woke up at 3 quite cheerful and with things to do (quietly ) but I'm really knackered now, please excuse the profanity. I can't have a nap as I have things to do this afternoon.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all. Damp here today. We are having a quiet day so not much to report. I made a Victoria Sandwich for John this morning as the cake boat had sank. Jacket potato filled with Coronation chicken for lunch.
John is now having a nap and I am knitting.
Have a good afternoon folks

Hello AOD, glad you're back.
RosyRed, I've been looking on Ebay at diecutters, and there are some reasonably priced ones, I'm definitely thinking about it.
Speky, we met and married in 8 months, everybody thought I was pregnant, people did think like that in those days. We were the opposite to Taff and her 15 years!! We've managed to get through 51 years without killing each other. Only you know what's best for yourself. Looking back we were probably too young, 20 and 21, but you just don't know.0
