Has anybody here got experice of game streaming services at all?

Does anybody have experience of using these game-streaming services:
PlayStation Now (PS4, PC) PlayStation. 8.3M subscribers.
GeForce Now (PC) NVIDIA. 540K subscribers
Jump (PC) Jump
Xbox Game Pass (Xbox One, *PC) Xbox. 2.9M subscriberS
Google Stadia. Google. 7.3M subscribers

Do they genuinely turn an old PC into the equivalent of a £1,500 gaming beast? Does anybody here think that the PC Gaming market will dry up or deteriorate because of these services and if the market for high end gaming computers were to subside when do you think they would decline?
I've never tried one of those services. My computer is a rubbishy old 2GB RAM dual core pentium 3ghz so I'm not sure if my machine would even be good enough to work with those types of services

Geforce now gets good feedback from the Nvidia shield community.
I have a Shield but Ive never got round to trying it

Minimum spec is minimum performance though. To get good performance you would need recommended specs or better. Competitive gamers pay silly prices for hardware upgrades that will give them any slight edge.


If consoles (cheap gaming machines) didn't put an end to pc gaming, I don't see why a streaming service would - particularly when that game library service is available cross platform and many of which offer cross platform saves. Plus a lot of the games are dross.

I've tried some in the past, and they were quite rubbish. Even with decent enough internet (higher than their recommended), the compression on the stream was pretty poor, blacks were extremely blocky, has much higher input lag etc

I'm not the target audience, as I have a gaming PC (I was just trying these streaming services out to see) - but I would probably prefer pick a console way before streaming,

I've tried it too and completely agree with you. It's still worth building your own pc or buying a console.
