I am one of the beneficiaries of an offshore investment bond held in a flexible reversionary trust where the bond is written as a series of underlying endowment policies. The bond was originally taken out by the settlor 20yrs ago and no withdrawals have been made in that time.

If the settlor\trustees were to assign me segments of the bond so that I can encash them in a tax efficient way at a time of my choosing, can anyone advise if I would be entitled to apply top slicing relief and if this would be calculated on the number of years since the settlor took out the original bond?
