Have you imagined reaching the age of 100? Quite possibly. But could you imagine still paying off a mortgage worth tens or hundreds of thousands as a centenarian? Possibly not, though if it crosses your mind then seriously consider whether you should, as there are risks.

  • I haven't seen any comments from Martin re the recent FCA ruling that anybody with an interest only mortgage that was due to finish from March last year,has until 31Oct2021 to pay it off - this is very helpful news for many mortgagees who are having difficulty paying off their interest only mortgage. The FCA ruling was dated November2020 I believe.
